"Golgotha" Oil on Canvas, 40 by 60 inch. (101.6 by 152.4 cm)
Golgotha is an icon that portrays the violent clash between Christian morals and the godless world we live in. The world is becoming a darker and darker place. Society tolerates things that were inconceivable fifty years ago. The reality of the degenerating world stands in sharp and violent contrast to God’s unapproachable light and holiness. The figure on the right portrays the torturous striving of the individual to escape of the corruption of the dark world into God’s light.
"Vision" Oil on Canvas, 23 ½ by 19 ½ inch. (60 by 70 cm)
"Paradise" Oil on Canvas,23 ¾ by 39 ½ inch. (60 by 100 cm)
"The Scream" Oil on Canvas, 31½ by 39½ inch. (80 by 100 cm)
"Menace" Oil on Canvas 35.5 by 39.5 inch. (90 by 100 cm)
The picture Menace in all its details arose in my mind in an instant of illumination as I was walking in downtown Moscow, a post-Soviet city of unbridled capitalism, rich and poor, glittering, dangerous and vicious. (I was robbed twice within a crow’s flight from Red Square.)
It took me nine days to transfer my mental image onto canvas. The two figures: one of a plunderer and the other of a powerless victim were a distillation of my emotional responses to the New Russia. This experience was extreme in its suddenness and clarity. Usually the first mental picture of a given emotional idea is misty and fluid. I then have to labor to refine it.
"Striving for Glory" Oil on Canvas, 46 by 32 inch. (116 by 81.28 cm)
In Striving for Glory the lower section of the picture portrays chaotic movement and stifling tension of the world we live in. The three towers represent the unreachable perfection humanity always strives after. There is a desire to escape the tense and crowded area of the lower part of the picture and repose ones eyes in the spacious area above.

"Impression of a Car Crash" Watercolor on Paper 18.5 by 18 inch (47 by 45.72 cm)
"Fantasy" Oil on Canvas, 30 by 40 inch (76.2 by 101.6 cm)
"Collapse" (Sketch) Watercolor on paper, 19 by 24 inch. (48.26 by 60.96 cm)
"Collapse" Oil on Canvas, 58 by 69 inch. (145 by 172.5 cm)
Collapse: A few months ago I had an impulse to portray the current global crisis. As I was working on different versions the initial impulse matured. Before my eyes arose a mirage like scene from the far distant future: our civilization already lying in ruins.
Gathering darkness is gradually extinguishing the light. The significant buildings of the former world have a gloomy washed out look.
In the lower part of the painting the process of decay is evidenced through the darkening of tone and the progression of disjointed diminishing rhythms.
The Statue of Liberty stands out as a ghostly phenomenon. The significance and power it once held for mankind are now gone.
Shall we be able to change our ways and avoid this fate?

"My World" Oil on Canvas, 40 by 30 Inch. (101.6 by 76.2 cm)
This is an autobiographical work. It depicts my personal space where I live and create. I exaggerate the size of the plants surrounding it to create a sense of vastness of my world.
In the background I depict 2 city-scapes to create a sense of depth. These city-scapes are also a part of my personal background. One is of Moscow, Russia where I spent seven years studying art. The other one is of Tallinn, Estonia, which I visited for extended periods of time once or twice a year while residing in Moscow and where I did some of my artwork.
